Welcome to Animal House Rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) non profit, volunteer run rescue organization. We rescue dogs and cats from Northwest Ohio area shelters and pounds, have them thoroughly examined by a veterinarian, have them spayed or neutered, bring them up-to-date on their vaccinations, test and treat for parasites, and place them in forever homes. We do not have a shelter, but run strictly out of our foster homes.

Adopt a Rescue

When you adopt from a rescue group, you’ll give an animal a second chance at finding a home. You’ll add a loving member to your family and enrich your life!

Available AHR Pets

Almost every Saturday (and sometime Sunday) we have Adoption Days where you can come meet some of our furry friends. Check out our calendar to see where we will be!

1531534_10152915816270318_7443899605836357273_n"Hi there! I'm Rocky. I need a forever home. Please, can you help me find it? Pretty please? I had a busy home for 16 months but they had to move where I couldn't go. It takes me just a little while to make sure you are friendly and I am safe. I've come a long way. Just let me get to know you. I've liked all the people and dogs I've meet this week - see, I can! I grew up with little boys but feel safe here with adults or bigger kids. I want to please my foster mom and dad so much, and love the attention they give me. I've learned to share too. I am sensitive; I listen and learn well. I think I'm big. I play with the Boxer and Toy Poodles here. My tail wags just about all the time. I like to cuddle! Taking walks with you would be great! I like the outdoors and to chase those birds, and oh, probably need a fence or a tie-out!"  Learn more,

She was blind in one eye, had a cataract in the other and several missing teeth. Her age was estimated at 9-11 years. You had pulled her from death row in a southern Ohio shelter. Well, this is a picture of her today. She is frail, but still has a routine of eating, wandering around , and sleeping in favorite beds. Just wants to let you know she has had 11 more wonderful years since you rescued her and is still going.  – Nancy

"Please help us to welcome a new foster dog, Toby, to Animal House Rescue. He is believed to be a 6 to 7 month old Lab/Boxer mix. He is very sweet!"
